Kermaco Cylindrical Pro Primitives Kitbash Kit 01

Introducing the kermaco Cylindrical Pro Primitives Kitbash Kit, a versatile collection of high-quality cylindrical base meshes designed to speed up your modeling and sculpting workflow!

Whether you are creating intricate mechanical details, stylized props, hinge joints or organic designs, this kit provides a solid foundation to quickly build complex forms. Each primitive is carefully optimized for efficient sculpting, with clean topology and well-defined shapes that allow for seamless integration into your projects. The shapes are generic enough not to impose a design language, but versatile enough with well planned out topology and polygrouping*, so as to allow you to design, modify and combine them to create more complex shapes needed for your projects.

This kit includes 135 SuBD, topologically sound, creased and polygrouped* cylindrical forms, from simple tubes and rings to more intricate beveled, segmented, and symmetric variations. The parts are SubD with polygrouping* and creasing to hold their intended form with Dynamic or Catmull Clark subdivision. The meshes are designed to be easily manipulated with deformers, modeling and sculpting tools, giving you the flexibility to refine and customize them to fit your unique vision. This is the first of my personal collection of kitbash kits that I have modeled over time and used on commercial and personal projects. More kits will be available pending the success and commercial viability of the first and subsequent kits.

Ideal for hard surface artists, concept designers, and 3D sculptors, this collection helps you skip the tedious process of creating base shapes from scratch, letting you focus on refining details and enhancing your designs. Perfect for beginners and professionals alike, the Cylindrical Primitives Kitbash Kit is a must-have addition to any 3D modeler or digital sculptor’s toolkit. Whether you’re working on sci-fi environments, mechanical parts, or abstract forms, these assets will help you achieve high-quality results with greater speed and efficiency. Streamline your creative process and unlock new possibilities in your projects.

You can use them by importing them into your DCC as FBX or OBJ models (in combined form). In ZBrush you can load them in as a tool you can copy and paste from, or as a single Insert Multi Mesh brush. Works with ZBrush 2022 and above.

Please note that the parts are not UV’d but you can use the polygroups in ZBrush’s UV master to quickly create them. They are also properly edgelooped to make it easy to UV in DCC programs. Also please note that the parts are comprised of quads except the few parts with unavoidable triangles.

You will get : ZBrush ZTL and IMM ZPB files for ZBrush 2022 and 2025. (The 2022 version works with all subsequent versions of ZBrush, but I included a 2025 version as well). Obj and FBX files to import into DCCs that allow importing of those two formats)

 instructions:

FBX and OBJ files: import them into your DCC and move them into place.

ZBrush IMM :

1 - Click Load Brush in the Brush Menu

2 - Load AKCylPrimitives_01_Z2022.ZBP

3 - Pick primitive from list, or press M and corresponding letter on top of the primitive then subsequent letter displayed

Use Tool/Geometry/Modify Topology MeshFromBrush to insert it into your scene. Hotkey MeshFromBrush for faster access.

Place the AKCylPrimitives_01_Z2022.ZBP file in your ZStartup/BrushPresets folder to have it load with ZBrush

ZBrush ZTL :

1 - Click Load Tool from the tool menu

2 - Pick the desired Subtool from the list

3 - click Copy in the Tool\Subtool menu

4 - Go to the tool you wish to add it to and click Paste in the Tool\Subtool menu

Please note that both 2022 and 2025 versions are included and the 2022 version works on ZBrush 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. I included the 2025 version for people who want the version generated in ZBrush 2025, I personally have not found any differences or advantages)

*polygrouping is a ZBrush only feature.
